The invited guests and speakers of the meeting, titled "The moderator's kitchen: recipes for successful meetings," were close friends and long-standing reliable partners of the library – representatives of The Tenth of April.
Svitlana Ponomarenko, Regional Coordinator of the Community Interaction and Development Department of the NGO "The Tenth of April," introduced the participants to the activities of the RIKA integration conversation clubs operating in the region and the city, specifically at branch libraries No. 5, 10, 15, and the branch for youth.
Serhii Ponomarenko, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor, and Deputy Head of the Department of Ukrainian Philology and Intercultural Communication at Petro Mohyla Black Sea State University, delivered a popular lecture. Pan Serhii presented both a theoretical and practical vision for preparing conversation club sessions and shared his own developments.
Together, they discussed:
- How to prepare for meetings with conversation club participants so that the process does not take up too much time;
- Which topics or formats always resonate the best;
- Which language exercises have become "staples" and why they work.
We thank all participants for their activity and the joint search for the best ways to make meetings in conversation clubs interesting and dynamic, because language matters!
