The creative workshop was conducted by the talented Mykolaiv craftswoman Vira Zhevner, who opened up the fascinating world of Ukrainian art traditions for the participants.
Canvas bags made of natural fabric, wooden stamps with geometric and floral ornaments, as well as bright acrylic paints were used.
The most difficult part was to assemble the pattern into a harmonious composition and accurately transfer it to the fabric. Attention and patience are important here: the paint is applied using a special technique, each stamp is pressed tightly to the bag – no mistakes!
The result is bright, summery ethnic shoppers, featuring blooming sunflowers, clusters of viburnum, butterflies, the Tree of Life, and even the Guardian of the Family.
We were inspired to study vybiika (printing), a unique decorative and applied art of Ukraine. And today, each of the participants felt like a real craftswoman!
