Since ancient times, beliefs in symbolism and metaphors have been an inseparable part of the Ukrainian people. It is interesting, but a fact. Almost all cultural and traditional works of art of the Ukrainian people are directly related to everyday and religious rituals.

Among the many archetypes of the worldview of our ancestors, the tree of life is an all-pervading, universal symbol. Its visualization is found on Trypillian pottery, carpets, in early iconography, and in the ornaments of Ukrainian embroidery and Easter eggs.

"Tree of Life" is the title of the personal exhibition of the craftswoman of the Cultural and Artistic Association "Art-Spokusa" Liudmila Gatsura, which opened on December 10 in the library branch No. 9 of the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi.

"The exhibition itself and our guest are in our library for the first time. It pleases and fascinates our human eye. The craftswoman herself is very talented," says Marнna Nagel, director of the library branch.

Lyudmila Gatsura's work reflects everything that is so close to each of us. With the help of Petrykivka painting, the author opens up to the viewer a large colorful world with its symbols, customs and traditions of her native country. The exhibition includes 16 works - painted panels depicting the beauty of Ukraine.

"The world is beautiful, you just have to see it. Don't look at the bad. We always have it. But see it a little differently. And look at it with different colors. There are works from 2017. There are new ones from 2023-2024. Different works. They came together in a single composition. Because Petrykivka is very harmonious. And the works echo each other," the craftswoman shares.

A unique musical and singing atmosphere in the hall was created by the laureate of all-Ukrainian and international vocal competitions Olena Savenko.

Liudmila Gatsura's exhibition "Tree of Life" will be exhibited in the library branch No. 9 of the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytsky until February 10 of next year. So you have a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the works of the master, which are striking in her sincerity, warmth and deep sense of Ukrainian identity.
