The Readers' Services Department is one of the leading departments of the library. The library offers readers books (about 200 titles) and periodicals (over 400 titles), which are exhibited at book exhibitions, literature reviews, on Information Days, Days of Periodicals, Days of Knowledge and Freshman's Day, ecological weeks, Day of the City and others. At the readers' request the workers of the department provide them with regular operative information on literature from different fields of knowledge.

 

Subsections of the Readers' Services Department:

Registration&Advertising Sector, where you can get a reader's ticket, purchase library advertisiment materials, have information about the library rules and its working hours.

Subscription Department for adults serves users at the age from 21.

They can attend book exhibitions, which cover most actual subjects in different spheres of life, and also have access to modern book novelties. The Children's Corner opens doors for its little visitors.

Subscription Department for youth serves users up to 21 years old. The necessities of students are taken into account during the collection's replenishment. The librarians of the Subscription Department co-operate with social services for young people as well as with secondary and higher education. Different literary meetings, quizzes, various events on actual problems of young people are carried out here.

Reading-room, the collection of which counts more than 100 thousand books from different fields of knowledge, 400 titles of periodicals, and is constantly enriched with novelties. Users can have access to the library rich reference-encyclopedic collection and  regional editions. We are proud to have rare and valuable books, chess collection, collection of address-calendars since 1869 until 1913 by Mykolaiv regional researcher V.R.Lifanov.

Literary-musical living room is a place for entertainment of readers, hobby clubs, meeting with creative intelligentsia of the city.
