On April 25, 2024, a solemn online opening ceremony of English Access Microscholarship International Educational Program of the U.S. Embassy under the program of the US Department "English Access Scholarship Program" (Access Program) was held in Mykolaiv.

Central city library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi and the META Charitable Foundation are long-term partners of educational programs implemented in Mykolaiv with the support of the US Embassy in Ukraine.
 
The Access program provides a free opportunity for students of pedagogical specialities to improve their knowledge of the English language, learn more about the United States of America, its culture and values, develop leadership skills, participate in civic and cultural activities of the local community, and participate in an intensive language school in the summer of 2025. Upon successful completion of the Program, participants will receive certificates from the US Embassy in Ukraine.
 
The guests of honor addressed the participants of the Access Program with words of congratulations: the director of regional English language teaching programs of the US Embassy in Ukraine Jen MacArthur, cultural assistant of the US Embassy in Ukraine Lilia Shylo, head of the NGO "UCCI "Svitlo"" Anton Plaksun, local coordinator in Mykolaiv, deputy chairman of the META charity foundation board, deputy director of the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi Liubov Variukhina; as well as representatives of V.O.Sukhomlynskyi National University: Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Natalia Mykhalchenko, Dean of the Faculty of Philology Tetiana Moroz, Head of the Department of German Philology Tetiana Myronenko.
 
The ceremonial opening was moderated by teachers Lidia Aizikova and Alla Spichenko, who have many years of experience working in the Program.
 
Students selected to participate in the Access Program presented their creative presentations and invited the guests of honor to try their hand at an interactive quiz dedicated to the Hero City of Mykolaiv.
 
During the final part of the ceremony, students received official letters confirming their participation in the English Access Scholarship Program.
 
At the opening ceremony, there was a friendly and creative atmosphere that responds the philosophy and traditions of the international educational program "English Access Scholarship Program".
