Like our ancestors, we continue to celebrate Palm Sunday a week before Easter. This day is full of joy and kindness, warmth and light. And it is not just about people's mood and spring weather, but also about faith in a real miracle, a new hope. And also about the production of one of the spring ritual dolls - "Verbnytsia".

Easter master class in the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi again gathered regular readers, who are in love with Ukrainian traditions and improvised library workshop.

"The willow in general is an ancient symbol. A symbol of awakening, rebirth of nature and all living things. Therefore, it is associated with the arrival of spring. And the fast ends with Palm Sunday. And the week of preparation for Easter begins. Such "Verbnytsia" was made so that it could be brought into the home. So that it decorates our holiday on Palm Sunday. Such a doll could be given to children to play with, so that they would be healthy. Such a doll was made mainly in calm colors. From blue to green. After all, these colors are a sign of rebirth, a symbol of spring," says Valentyna Kryvtsova, head of the Cultural and Artistic Association "Art-Spocusa".

To help the visitors of the master class to make such a doll, the head of the Cultural and Artistic Association "Art-spokusa" invited a family duo - honored master of folk art Valentyna Dymova and her daughter Olha Tarasova.

"I like to make different types of motanka dolls. I like to make dolls from fabric and from other materials. For example, from bundle or threads. They are simply very interesting. Everyone gets their own image. And such a doll, it is unusual. And symbolic. My mother and I often get together when there is time, and make some kind of motanka dolls, make some souvenir products. We make products together. We talk, communicate. And see which doll made each of us. Everyone has their own character. And it really helps to escape from the present a little bit", - shares craftswoman Olha Tarasova.

"We have such a time now that we need to stick together. And when we make our motanka dolls, we think and talk. And in the back of our minds we think that everything to be over there as soon as possible. And here, we put this information in what we are doing with the girls now," emphasizes the honored master of folk art Valentyna Dymova.

A doll, which is professionally and skillfully made, dressed as a young lady, is an important and valuable object, in addition, it is also a mediator between generations, a talisman of the family and home, a guarantee of well-being, happiness in family life.

And no matter how beautifully dressed and fashionable modern dolls are, a folk doll always has a special energy, which is healing and healthy. This is what contributes to the fact that its popularity is reviving among our youth.
