From generation to generation Ukrainians pass on the traditions of celebrating a bright day, Easter, in memory of the miracle of the Resurrection of the Son of God. Christians around the world celebrate it for many centuries.

The egg has long been a symbol of life and birth in almost all peoples of the world. It is impossible to imagine Ukrainian Easter without Easter eggs (Pysankas), which unique ornaments and variety of colors enchant the eye. Depicting objects, patterns and events on them became art.

On the eve of Easter, the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi together with the Cultural and Artistic Association "Art-Spokusa" invited regular readers - visitors of the library master classes to make a very unusual amulet of love, peace and goodness with their own hands, which will surely decorate a bright Easter basket.

"And today we are making an Easter decoration in the form of an Easter egg (Pysanka) using the artichoke technique. This type of art has such a name because it closely resembles the inflorescence of an artichoke flower. Hence the name. And in general, such products are made very often using this technique. And each craftswoman calls it her own way. Sometimes they call it a bump. Sometimes, they call it corners or teeth", - reminds the head of the Cultural and artistic association "Art-Spokusa" Valentyna Kryvtsova.

The general meaning of this type of creativity is in cutting, assembling and bending pieces of paper or fabric with their subsequent use in the process. As a result, three-dimensional products are born in the hands of talented craftswomen.

"This is an artichoke, which is used precisely for sewing various blankets and pillows. Craftswomen use it to decorate Easter eggs and Christmas tree toys. Today we used this technique to create an Easter egg. It can be used for home decoration. Also for consecrating our eggs (Krashenkas), decorating our Easter basket. And they used for this ribbons. Multicolored ribbons", - emphasized the coach and craftswoman Vira Zhevner.

Of course, this work is very painstaking and original. But the cultural and artistic association "Art-Spokusa" led by Valentyna Kryvtsova encourages the visitors of the library master classes to never rest on their laurels and always strive to learn something new.
