Iryna Kalyna is a new name in modern Ukrainian literature.

Pani Iryna fled to our city from the occupied Luhansk region. During the meeting, the author told her story, shared her life and creative path, which is permeated with longing for her native land, the pain of separation from her relatives and what hurts every Ukrainian.

Iryna has been in love with poetry for over 10 years. Gradually mastering poetic skills, she takes an active part in various literary contests and flash mobs. The collection "Do not let the eternal flame go out" includes poems written during 2022-2023.

It is nice that our library became the venue for the premiere of Iryna Kalyna's first collection of poetry - "Do not let the eternal flame go out"". The meeting was intimate and atmospheric. Pani Iryna told about how she got into the literary association "Kolosok" in her native village, and how she became a member of the NGO "Poetic Family". About how she studied and improved her native language as an adult, about cooperation with editors and proofreaders. And about how important it is to write according to the rules, because thanks to the rules, poems become more melodious and understandable.

In a warm friendly company over a cup of coffee and tea, we read poems for a long time, discussed the craft of writing, and were inspired by poetry.

Thank you to Iryna Kalyna for pleasant communication, wonderful poems and an interesting meeting. We wish you peace, creative achievements and success in all your endeavors!
