On April 5 in the gallery of the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi the jubilee painting exhibition of the Honored Artist of Ukraine Oleh Prykhodko opened. On April 8, he will celebrate his 70th anniversary.

"This is a common idea. Because we reopened this gallery area in 2022, early 2023. And Oleh Kostiantynovych from the Ivano-Frankivsk region watched the work of this gallery. He saw we exhibited the works of the People's Artist Andrii Antoniuk, and the Honored Artist Yurii Humennyi. He called us and reminded about his anniversary. We, in turn, are always happy to welcome talented artists. Then we specially assembled this exhibition. Oleh came for this from Ivano-Frankivsk. And we collected paintings from private collections. Now we present them to the people of Mykolaiv," the director of the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi Inha Khorzhevska.

The exposition presents a total of 14 works written by the author in different years. Their subjects are very diverse. Almost every one of them has the beauty of the picturesque Ukrainian nature, the Ukrainian Crimea. They return the viewer to the period of pre-war, peaceful life. In those times when the Ukrainian peninsula was not occupied by Russian invaders. At the same time, Oleh Kostiantynovych's paintings motivate and instill faith in the return of Crimea to Ukraine, the restoration of justice and territorial integrity of the country.

"Mainly there are sketches from nature. Nature works are mainly Crimean. They are written simply and quickly. First, the weather is changing. The sun has set, the shadows have fallen. You practically paint the feeling. Impressionism is a feeling," Oleh Prykhodko notes.

In addition, the exhibition presents a portrait of the famous Mykolaiv neurosurgeon Sych Yevhen Hryhorovych, painted by Oleh Kostiantynovich in 2011. For a long time, Yevhen Sych was at the helm of the most difficult department of the hospital for emergency medical care in Mykolaiv. He passed away two years ago.

Yevhen Hryhorovych was a smiling, bright and very modest person. In his spare time, he was fond of painting and hunting. Yevhen Sych is a doctor with his own history and a large number of followers, a specialist who developed and put into practice several types of operative interventions of the spine which were advanced for its time.

A large number of friends and people close to him came to the library to congratulate Oleh Prykhodko with the jubilee exhibition.

"In any case, I would like to wish you good health, the health of your eyes. So that you can continue to work, continue to create your paintings. To pass on you rskills to the young people. Teach them how to work. And once again thank you for continuing to work, showing an example of how to hold the rod, keep the course and direct towards it," the Mykolaiv city mayor congratulated the Honored Artist of Ukraine.

"I am fascinated by the marine theme. It's always so. I am a former designer who designed ships and vessels for the seas and oceans, therefore the marine theme is very close to me. Here I am looking...His favorite place is Balaclava. Crimea. He spent a lot of creative groups there, and just lived there for a while. Therefore, he has a lot of works on this topic. I really like them," says Tamila Buhaenko, head of the GO "Mykolaiv Regional Women's Union of Ukraine".

The exhibition will be on display in the library gallery during the moth. So, you have time to come and enjoy the beauty of the Ukrainian Crimea in the works of Honored Artist of Ukraine Oleh Prykhodko.
