The book and the cartoon "Travel-book. Mykolaiv" was presented in the Central city library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi as part of the implementation of the charitable patriotic project about Ukraine "Travel-book. Cities".

It is aimed at supporting the frontline cities of Ukraine. Books and cartoons will be dedicated to Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv. Two of them have already been born. In particular, the premiere of the first cartoons and the presentation of books about Kharkiv and Chernihiv took place.

"We wanted to make a phrase on the shelves so that this phrase would be: "One Single Unified Ukraine." And every city is a letter. At the beginning, it was planned for the first five books. These are the frontline cities of the South and East," says Iryna Taranenko, founder of the creative agency Green Penguin, co-founder of the animation publishing house Books&Cartoons and co-author of the book.

The team of authors of "Travel-book. Mykolaiv" included the Kapranov Brothers, Iryna Taranenko, Marta Leshak, Maria Vorobiova. The unique edition is the first alphabet about the city on the water. Each letter is the city's DNA, a unique feature without which its fascinating history is unthinkable.

"But I hope that there will be more of these books in the future. And it will not only be about big cities or regional centers. I also dream of making about small towns and villages too. Because they are worth it. I hope it will find a response from readers. Because we feel that we are returning...well, not we, but what has happened now, we are returning respect, the attractiveness of domestic tourism. And people are increasingly interested in their history, their cities. This is what the project is aimed at," pani Iryna emphasizes.

"Travel-book. Cities" is a unique patriotic series of stories about Ukrainian cities, which is realized simultaneously in two formats: cartoons and books. Cartoons are released on the project's YouTube channel. "The Old Lion Publishing House" is engaged in the printed part of the project.

The authors of the texts were well-known Ukrainians, in particular Irena Karpa and Serhii Zhadan.

"It is very important that such children's books will help the growing generation to understand the history of our city. To understand that our country consists of exactly such cities, which are Ukrainian cities. And they are in no way related to "Comrade Lenin". Thank you for your work. I am very pleased that today the city of Mykolaiv is among the six cities depicted here on this banner. And I would like us to continue our cooperation with you. For your work to develop. And not only forward to other cities of Ukraine, but also across the country. So that for the next audience, which is more mature, you will make some interesting literature", - emphasized Mykolaiv city mayor Oleksandr Senkevych.

The project "Travel-book. Cities" was created with the support of the project of the United States Agency for International Development USAID "Strengthening Public Trust" (UCBI). Friends and partners of the project include Ukrzaliznytsia, 1+1 media, Kyivstar TV, Morshinska, VIVA magazine and famous Ukrainians who support their hometowns.
