The lecture was conducted by Hlib Ursul, an authorized operative of the Cybercrime Counteraction Department in the Mykolaiv Region of the Cyberpolice Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

He introduced the attendees to the most common internet fraud schemes and provided practical advice on protecting personal data and finances.

During the meeting, the participants learned how to recognize dangerous messages, calls, and online schemes that could lead to the loss of funds or personal data. They discussed the most common cases of fraud: fake messages from banks, suspicious links, scam calls, phishing for SMS codes, as well as dangerous offers on the internet.

Special attention was paid to the rules of safe use of bank cards and online payments:
✅ Never share PIN codes, passwords, or confirmation codes with anyone;
✅ Verify information before transferring funds;
✅ Use only official websites and applications;
✅ Be cautious with suspicious letters, messages, and calls.

The participants were also told how to act in case of fraud, where to turn for help, and how to protect their accounts and personal information.

The meeting served as a useful reminder: in the digital world, attentiveness, awareness, and adherence to simple rules of cyber hygiene are the best protection against scammers.
