The event took place within the framework of the XVIII Mykolaiv City Open Ecological Readings "Let's Preserve for Posterity."
On this day, the library hosted master's students from the Mykolaiv National Agrarian University majoring in "Agronomy."
They were offered an intensive program that included a blitz overview of the annual Ecological Readings, a viewing of a book exhibition dedicated to the environmental protection of the Mykolaiv region, a presentation on the activities of the NGO "Kinburn," and a session of the board game "Blue Economy."
Pan Mykola Hrubyi, Chairman of the NGO "Kinburn," introduced the students to the history of the organization’s creation, its meaningful activities, key achievements, and future plans.
The "Blue Economy" game was moderated by one of its developers, Mykolaiv public figure and scientist pani Inna Tymchenko.
The young participants immersed themselves in the exciting "Blue Economy" game, which helps players take a fresh look at issues of sustainable development, ecological responsibility, and human interaction with nature, using the Black Sea region as an example.
Pani Inna successfully led the game, incorporating tasks that addressed the current needs of developing a blue economy under wartime conditions.
In addition to the main program, the students took a tour of the library, where they explored modern popular science, Ukrainian fiction, and local history publications.
A pleasant highlight at the end of the meeting was information about the recently launched educational initiative, the "Seed Library." As a bonus for the library specialists, the future agronomists provided valuable advice on growing microgreens within the newly established seed library.
We sincerely thank the moderators Mykola Hrubyi and Inna Tymchenko for such a meaningful event, and all the participants for their active involvement and dedication to eco-educational initiatives!
The meeting was co-organized with the help of Tetiana Manushkina, Associate Professor of the Department of Agriculture, Geodesy, and Land Management at MNAU.
The event was organized by the Charitable Foundation META "From Common Vision to Joint Actions" and the Marko Kropyvnytskyi Central Library, with the support of the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Mykolaiv City Council.
This is what library meetings are all about: a place where you can play, plant, and exchange experience.
