On September 30, a solemn event dedicated to the celebration took place at the Mykolaiv Academic Ukrainian Drama and Art Theater. Before its start, a ceremony of Commemorative Postmark Cancellation dedicated to the library's 125th anniversary was held.
The hall was filled with the library's staff and its branches, veterans of the library profession, representatives of the authorities, partners, friends, colleagues from other libraries, and media representatives. Oleh Serbyn, the Director-General of the Yaroslav the Wise National Library of Ukraine, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Doctor of Social Communications, and member of the Presidium of the Ukrainian Library Association, addressed the attendees with a welcoming speech.
For their many years of work, professionalism, and significant contribution to the development of culture, library employees received honorary certificates and commendations from the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Mykolaiv Regional Council, the City Mayor, Mykolaiv City Council, and the city's district administrations.
This year, another special award the "Library Ambassador," was established. Its first recipient was Artem Kryvtsov for his many years of fruitful work and support of the library.
Pleasant surprises of the celebration included performances by Oleksandr Sychov, Merited Artist of Ukraine, and the "Golden Voice" vocal studio, theater actor Bohdan Melnikov, author and performer Oleksandra Horshkova, and a member of the "People's Art Collective" solo singing circle "Prestige." Choreographic support was provided by the "Exemplary Art Collective" dance ensemble "Happy Childhood." Their talents were also shared by Anastasiia Bratashchuk, a diploma winner of the 17th All-Ukrainian Festival "Chervona Ruta-2025," and the festival winners - the trio "Soul Time," consisting of Andrii Kryvoruchko, Volodymyr Vasylenko, and Oleksii Kovshov.
We are sincerely grateful to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to celebrate this important event together.
Thank you to everyone who shared this day with us and congratulated the library on its glorious anniversary.
