Today, as part of the book donation campaign for the 125th anniversary of the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi, we offer you the diary of a front-line Mykolaiv "Life as Shards of Glass," written by volunteer and writer Hanna Polovenko.

The morning of February 24, 2022 in our country began with explosions and the sounds of air raid sirens. So, war broke out in the peaceful life of Ukrainians, turning it into shards of glass. A war that forced everyone to face a choice: to leave or to stay? How to survive wartime with your family and not break down?

From the beginning of the full-scale war until now, the author has not left her hometown of Mykolaiv, and, like everyone else, she was forced to search for answers to painful questions. This is what the fiction-documentary book "Life as Shards of Glass" tells about.

The book tells about the events in Mykolaiv and Kherson during the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation of Ukraine.

The author paid special attention to how the city and its people changed with the beginning of the war, united into a single whole that no enemy could break.

This is pani Hanna's second book. The first is called "Mykolaiv 24. 02. 2022". Both books were published by Iryna Hudym publishing house.

On March 15, a creative meeting with the writer was held at the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi, where citizens had the opportunity to get acquainted with the author's work, talk to her, and purchase the autographed book "Life as Shards of Glass."

We sincerely thank Hanna Polovenko for the gift.

You can read both books at the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi.
