Today, February 11, is Safer Internet Day. This is an important international event that takes place annually on the second Tuesday of February.
Its goal is to raise awareness about online safety and contribute to creating a safer and more responsible digital space for users around the world. Now that the Internet has become an integral part of our lives, it is very important to educate users on how to protect themselves from cyber threats.
An information release “Basic Rules of Hygiene on the Internet” was held at the Digital Education Hub, which operates at the M. L. Kropyvnytskyi Library.
The participants of the event were introduced to the following key issues:
* Main dangers on the Internet (phishing, fraud, data leakage, etc.).
* Protection of personal information: creating strong passwords; how to protect your data after a hack.
* Safety in social networks: privacy settings, avoiding dangerous contacts.
* Device protection: software updates, antivirus protection.
* Practical tips for checking the safety of sites and files.
* Recognition of false information and deepfakes.
