A talented person, an extraordinary personality, madly in love with his native land, Viktor Kovalenko, is a musician, poet and bard, who due to military aggression was forced to leave his native Bashtanka region and move to Kropyvnytskyi.

Recently being in the Mykolaiv region, he made a book gift from neighboring Kropyvnytskyi region to the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi.

The book fund was replenished with the almanac "Through Storms and Squalls" of the creative association "Vitryla". The poetic works of many authors from Kropyvnytskyi and the region are collected here. Most works by the members of "Vitryla" are dedicated to the terrible, tragic events of the war unleashed by the Russian invaders. The almanacs also include the works of direct participants and eyewitnesses of these events.

Another publication is the SIVACH literary and artistic almanac - the printed organ of the Society of Writers and Journalists named after Ivan Franko and the editorial board of the almanac.

Part of the life of the chief editor of the almanac, Stanislav Novytskyi, is connected with Kropyvnytskyi. Now he lives in Vinnytsia, but he does not sever ties with Kropyvnytskyi region.

We now have the opportunity to introduce our readers and visitors to the exposition of the M.L. Kropyvnytskyi memorial museum thanks to the booklet gifted by Viktor Kovalenko.

We thank the long-time friend of the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi Viktor Kovalenko for such a gift and we invite you, dear friends, to our library.
