This is the first full-length documentary film about embroidered shirts, which are not only a material but also a spiritual heritage of the Ukrainian people. The author of the idea and screenwriter is Lesia Voroniuk, the director is Oleksandr Tkachuk, the scientific consultant is Oleksii Dolia.

In "Legacy of the Nation" two planes are organically intertwined: ethnographic one which shows an incredible variety of unique ornaments, embroidery techniques, cut, which depend on the region where the shirts are worn. The second one is the stories of people whose lives were changed by the embroidery - particularly they were saved, united, became a symbol of indomitability or the last hope.
