The outstanding Ukrainian playwright and dramatist M.L. Kropivnitskiy is the namesake for our library, so these books have special importance.

Nikolayev book festival
April, 21 to April, 24th the Central library named after M.L.Kropivnitskiy hosted the VII exhibition of local publishing houses “Mykolayiv book - 2009”. This seventh installment of the Library’s popular showcase for Nikolayev publishing houses was devoted to the city’s 220th anniversary. During the exhibit, Nikolayev publishers generously donated nearly 300 books to the Central Library System.
We express our gratitude to the magazines: “Autograph. XXI Century” (editor-in-chief Korol’), "Town-dweller" (publisher Y.A.Yurin), “Business union” (editor-in-chief E.V.Kirsanov), "Names" (editor-in-chief Y.A.Minin), “Letter N” (publishers M. Skalitski, Eugenie Provorniy).

A gift from the library of doctor Eugenie Bogdan Roslitskiy
The central library named after M.L.Kropivnitskiy expresses sincere gratitude to Oleg and Lada Roslitskie, children of the Canadian scientist of Ukrainian origin and Doctor Eugenie Bogdan Roslitskiy for the gift of books from their father’s estate. It is a great honor for us to receive such a gift for our readers and all Nikolayev community.
The books are on subjects from art, to literary criticism, to history. Though all are in Ukrainian, most were published elsewhere (Toronto, Edmonton, Paris, New York, London). The Roslitskiy’s gift includes books of special merit by Ukrainian writers Oles’ Berdnik, Yar Slavutich, and N.Arkasa. All of them are of special interest.
The presented editions are valuable for everyone who appreciates the Ukrainian word.
